Fire crews have freed a motorist who became trapped in their vehicle after a collision today.

Police, paramedics and firefighters were called to an unclassified road at Waye Farm in Ermington, near Ivybridge at 8:00am.

Police say a green Toyota Yaris, registered to Plymouth, and a green Toyota Land Cruiser from Noss Mayo were involved in the collision, which left one person trapped.

Two fire engines from Plymstock and Plympton found one woman still trapped on arrival, although two other people were rescued before arrival of the fire service.

Crews used hydraulic rescue equipment to free the casualty and she was taken to Derriford Hospital along with two other people by ambulance.

All three people are said to have suffered minor injuries.
