Two Westcountry teenagers have been found dead in two separate incidents.
A 14-year-old schoolgirl, named locally as Izzy Dix, was discovered by her mother at around 11.30pm on Tuesday in Brixham.
In an unrelated incident, the body of a 15-year-old boy, named locally as Tom Savage, who had been reported missing, was found by police less than 30 minutes later, near Redruth.
The girl, who was a Year 10 pupil at Brixham Community College was confirmed dead by ambulance staff.
Staff and pupils at her school have been offered counselling as officers investigate the circumstances of her death, which is not being treated as suspicious.
Mike Morey chairman of governors at the college, said: "There is deep sadness over the death of a Year-10 student. We are offering counselling to students and staff. Our prayers and thoughts go to the student's family and loved ones."
In Cornwall police had been searching for the boy, who lived in Scorrier and was a pupil at Richard Lander School in Truro.
Police Inspector Mark Richards, based in Truro, said: "We are looking into the death of a 15-year-old schoolboy who was a pupil at Richard Lander School." Nobody else was being sought in connection with the incident, he added.
Steve Mulcahy, head teacher of Richard Lander, said: "It is with deep sadness that I share the news of the death of a current student at Richard Lander School. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family."
