There's plenty to see and do at this year's South West Christmas Equine Fair (December 8-9). Here are a few things worth looking out for...

The Pony Club Horse and Hound Challenge – cheer on and show your support for the young riders as they participate in the challenge on the Saturday and the junior show jumping competition on the Sunday. Both will be fast paced and fun to watch

Top international showjumper Tim Stockdale will be taking to the arena twice a day with his show jumping masterclass

The British Equestrian Trade Association will be bringing along their life size mechanical horse for you to 'have a go' on, plus you can bring along your hat and body protector for a free safety check

For those feeling lucky, there will also be plenty of competitions to enter amongst the companies exhibiting at the show – some of the old favourites will be there and new ones with exciting new products. Note a shopping crèche is available in the organiser's office in the foyer

Devon's equine behaviourist Emma Massingale will host a stunning demonstration on Advanced Horsemanship – the invisible bond. She also has a stand at the show so you can ask her any questions

Other top attractions include the popular stallion parades, the breed society area and the Strictly Showing classes which sees the Open ridden class, any type or colour not exceeding 153cm on Saturday and the Open ridden class, any type or colour exceeding 153cm on Sunday. Who will Fiona Dymond and Chris Yates choose as their champion?
