If you are stuck for a Christmas present for the person who has everything, why not buy them a Western Morning News Westcountry Calendar for the coming year?

The calendar features stunning photographs of many beauty spots in the region, from tors high up on Dartmoor to intimate coves down on the Lizard of Cornwall.

The pictures heralding each fortnight of the year include cliff-top views of turquoise waters lapping sandy beaches, peaceful views across granite harbours in the evening light and dinghies venturing out for an afternoon's sail.

The 26 images which feature in the calendar – one for each fortnight and a couple of extra ones – are selected from those published in the daily Western Morning View slot in the paper each day.

These are submitted by readers across the paper's circulation area – Devon and Cornwall and parts of Somerset and Dorset – and there are many talented photographers among them.

This year's calendar features work by Martyn Hasluck, Patricia Malek Rob Kendall, Rosie Spooner, Shaun Skinner, Robin Jacobs, Roy Curtis, Max Doble, Mike Watson, John Husband, Max Doble, Tim Barker, Jeffrey Blake, Dave Peake, David Dummett and Tina Haydn-Jones.

Western Morning News promotions manager Brenda Hennessey had the enjoyable job of selecting the pictures from all those published in the paper each day. "It is excellent value because instead of 12 pictures you get 26," she said.

She added that the calendar was selling well, both directly from the paper and in branches of WH Smith's, Calendar Club and newsagents across the region. It is currently the top seller in the Calendar Club store in Plymouth, ahead of the one featuring the boy band One Direction.
