Four women were taken to hospital after their car veered out of control and left the road in North Devon late on Wednesday night. Firefighters were called out to the incident at 11.15pm when the grey Renault Laguna overturned after apparently hitting ice near the Foxhunters Garage at West Down on the A361 near Ilfracombe. A spokesman for Devon and Cornwall Police said the passengers did not have serious injuries: "All four women appeared to have minor injuries. They were taken to North Devon District Hospital as a precaution. The car went out of control, rolled and veered off the road."
