More flooded roads and accidents in Devon

More heavy rain has affected parts of Devon this morning.

Many roads around the region are blocked or impassable and police have been attending numerous accidents.

The Devon Air Ambulance and other emergency services has been called to a serious crash in the South Molton area this morning.

A car left an unclassified road between South Molton and North Molton at 8:10am.

An overturned van at Tedburn Road at Whitestone in Exeter blocked the road.

Police were called to the crash at 7:45am and found a white Citroen Berlingo van on its roof.

Sand was used to absorb oil which had leaked onto the road.

The driver suffered minor injuries and the van was recovered at 9:10am.

In Sidmouth there was disruption outside a school after a power cable was knocked down.

A white Scania Articulated lorry collided with the power cable at Tipton St John primary school at 8:50am.

No injuries have been reported and the lorry has recovered.

Western Power engineers are making repairs.

On the A30 at Whiddon Down a van crashed partially blocking the road at the A382 junction.

Police were called at 8:10 am and found a white Vauxhall Movan registered to Yorkshire carrying plaster board on its side.

No injuries were reported but one lane Exeter-bound is blocked.

A landslip on the A388 in Monkleigh has partially blocked the road in both directions between the Monkleigh junction and the A386 junction.

On the B3257 at the Morwellham Quay junction the road is partially blocked because of flooding.

The A3072 carriageway at the A396 Exeter Road junction at Bickleigh is just passable after heavy flooding.

The A361 in Tiverton is just passable on A361 in both directions in near Gornhay Crossbecause of flooding.

A section of the on A376 Exmouth Road at Clyst St George is closed in both directions in Clyst St George between the B3179 junction and the A3052 junction due to flooding.

There is flooding on B3137 in Withleigh at the Withleigh Lane junction.

An minor shunt between two vehicles caused delays on Barrack Road in Exeter at the Dryden Road junction.

There is a traffic light failure in both directions between the Avonwick junction and the Totnes junction.
