Around 150 people are expected to attend the third annual Local Entrepreneur Forum in Totnes on May 13.

The event, in Totnes Civic Hall, aims to support start ups by connecting them with the resources they need to be successful.

“We’ve modelled the event on something that happens in Silicon Valley, but added our own Totnesian twist,” said event co-organiser Jay Tompt. “Entrepreneurs pitch their projects to the whole audience and they pledge whatever support they can, whether it’s thousands of pounds sterling or a free massage.”

Last year’s big winners, School Farm CSA, a market garden farm in Dartington, raised £2,000, and were given 25 fruit trees, two and half tonnes of mulch, a horse paddock, a radio show, and several massages. See www.tinyurl.com/LEF2014
