Fire crews deal with blaze in empty house

Firefighters forced their way into a house to fight a cooker fire amid fears that someone may still have been trapped inside. Two fire engines from Taunton were sent to the blaze in Lime Crescent in the town, at 11am, after reports that smoke was coming from the building. Officers wearing breathing sets entered the building and put out the blaze using a hose reel. It was later confirmed that no-one had been inside the premises at the time.
