Fire crews cut several free in road crashes

Three fire crews attended the scene of a crash in Torquay yesterday after a driver was left trapped in his car.

The man was believed to have suffered back injuries in the incident at Gallows Gate just before 8am.

He was taken to hospital by ambulance.

There were further collisions during the course of the morning.

At 11.20am a woman had to be cut free from her car after it hit the central reservation on the A30 near Sourton.

Meanwhile 25 minutes later, two people had to be cut from their car after a two-vehicle collision on Newton Road in Torquay.
