Cases which have been dealt with by Exeter Magistrates Court this week

Julie Corcutt, of Appledore Cottages, Bow, has been ordered to pay £2,153.91 and costs at £200 a month, or face a three-month suspended prison sentence, after admitting non-payment of council tax.

Steven Miller, 19, of King William Street, Exeter, received a three-month conditional discharge after admitting using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour.

Barrie John Skinner, 44, of Arena Park, Beacon Heath, Exeter, received an eight-week suspended prison sentence after admitting producing cannabis. He must also pay £85 court costs, and an order was made for the destruction of seized cannabis plants.

Clark Adam Bennett, 23, of Elizabeth Avenue, Stoke Hill, Exeter, received an 11-week suspended sentence and a curfew order after admitting assaulting a woman. Bennett must remain inside between 8pm and 6am for 90 days and pay compensation and court costs totalling £500.

Amanda Jane Frost, 36, of Clayton Road, Exeter, was ordered to complete 150 hours of unpaid community work after admitting stealing perfume and sunglasses from Debenhams.

Tony William Bradbury, 37, of Magdalen Road, Exeter, was fined £650 and ordered to pay £85 and a victim surcharge of £15 after he was found driving a Peugeot without insurance.

Paul William Rowan Catley, 60, of Hole Farm, Clayhidon, was ordered to pay a fine of £220, costs of £60 and a victim surcharge of £15 after he was found driving a Nissan without insurance.

Scott Alistair Harper, 18, of Brookway, Exeter, was ordered to pay a total of £625 in fines, compensation and court costs after a BMW he was driving was found to have a reduced tread and he also failed to produce a driver's licence. The charges were proved in his absence.

Mark Martin Hunt, 39, of Park Road, Exeter, was ordered to pay £450 in fines, court costs and compensation after he was caught driving a Mercedes CLS over the 30mph limit in Newton St Cyres. Five penalty points were added to his licence. The case was proved in his absence.

Jason Michael Rowe, 40, of Quarry Cottages, Budlake, was ordered to pay court costs and fines of £145 after speeding in an Aston Martin DB9 in Barrack Road, Ottery St Mary. He had three penalty points added to his licence.

Janice Elaine Saunders, 39, of Albert Street, Exeter, was sentenced to 40 hours of unpaid community work after admitting assaulting a police officer. She must also pay a £50 fine.

Christopher James Henry, 28, was imprisoned for two weeks after admitting possession of six grams of amphetamine and 38 tablets of diazepam while the subject of a conditional discharge.
