A woman has been taken to hospital after a crash in Exeter this afternoon.
Police say a passing ambulance found the collision when it happened to be driving past.
Paramedics pulled up in Polsloe Road in Exeter at 11.25am and began assisting a woman in a car who was complaining of neck injuries.
A red Suzuki Swift and a Chevrolet Cruze collided although it is not clear which car the injured woman was in.
Fire crews from Danes Castle and Middlemoor were called and used hydraulic cutting equipment and small tools to gain access to the vehicle.
A police spokeswoman said: "The injured female was taken to the Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital with neck injuries which are not thought to be life threatening."
The road was reopened at 12.50pm.
