Olympic skating champion Robin Cousins visited the Westcountry this week looking for a new star for the latest Holiday on Ice Show, Tropicana – the Passion Tour.

Skaters were invited to audition at an Ice Factor Competition held at Plymouth Pavilions Ice Rink.

Twenty four hopefuls, aged from seven to 16, performed for the judging panel – which also included Holiday on Ice star Vicki Usherwood.

The winner was 13-year-oldHannah Rahman, from Basingstoke, while second place went to Freya Gidman, 8, and Jack O'Sullivan, 11, both from Plymouth. Third place was won by eight-year-old Cleo Goodwin, also from Plymouth.

Mr Cousins said: "There was a huge amount of talent taking part.

"Several of the skaters were good enough to have the potential to join a professional skating show like Holiday on Ice when they're older. Hannah's performance stood out; it was charming, brilliantly in sync and her skating skills were really advanced. We are really looking forward to seeing what she comes up with for opening night in Exeter."
