The Western Morning News is moving is headquarters back into the heart of Plymouth city centre.
Along with its sister newspaper The Herald, the WMN is to move back into the centre of Plymouth after 20 years based at Derriford.
The move, expected to happen by the summer, has been made possible after the titles were acquired by a new regional newspaper company, Local World.
The new media group, with nearly 100 titles, aims to transform regional publishing, to create a one-stop shop for local content, to serve communities and businesses in every aspect. The business is also building on titles like The Herald and Western Morning News and expanding their digital presence.
Blanche Sainsbury, managing director of South West Media Group said: “The move back into the city shows our commitment to be at the heart of the community.”
The newspapers moved out of New George Street, in Plymouth city centre, when their glass and steel headquarters building opened in 1993.
The “Ship”, as it was dubbed, won five architectural awards.
