HMV stores in Taunton and in Torquay are among a further 37 stores to be axed by administrator Deloitte, it has been announced.
A total of 464 people are currently employed across latest branches to have been identified for closure.
Deloitte anticipates the stores will close within the next four to six weeks, but they will continue to trade in the meantime along with the 66 stores where closures have already been announced in a move affecting 930 jobs.
HMV, which collapsed into administration on January 15, currently operates from 219 stores in the UK.
In the Westcountry, it also trades from stores in Exeter, Plymouth, Truro and Yeovil, which do not feature among the 103 outlets now earmarked to close.
Joint administrator Nick Edwards said: "As part of our ongoing review of HMV's financial position, we have undertaken a further review of the store portfolio and have identified an additional 37 stores for closure. This step has been taken in order to enhance the prospects of the restructured business continuing as a going concern."
