Police are hoping a digger will be able to help them pull a van from under a railway bridge in Newton Abbot.
Police were called to Quay Road in Newton Abbot at 3:30pm today after reports a Ford Transit van was "well and truly wedged" under the bridge.
The bridge, which has an 8ft 3ins height restriction, is still passable if cars mount the pavement.
Network Rail have been called to the scene but trains have not been stopped.
A digger has been brought in to help pull the van out which was being driven by a 24-year-old man.
A structual engineer has been called in at 4.30pm to asses any damage.
No injuries have been reported to police.
