Two cars have crashed partially blocking a road between Tavistock and Plymouth.

One car has been left on its side and a silver Vauxhall Astra is in the hedge at the side of the road after the crash on the A386 north of Yelverton.

Police and paramedics are at the scene and one lane has been blocked.

Firefighters are helping retrieve one car from a ditch at the scene near Horrabridge.

A gritter has been sent to the scene.

Traffic is backing up from the site of the crash near the Whitchurch turning at Anderton Lane.

Police say one of the vehicles rolled, but it does not appear anyone was seriously hurt in the accident, which happened at 7.10am.

Recovery vehicles are en route but police say it may take some time to remove the vehicle from the hedge and ditch at the side of the road.
