Rumours of Paul Tisdale's departure from St James's Park to take the vacant manager's position at Bristol City appear to be coming to an end.

The Ashton Gate club have called a press conference for 11am this morning (Tuesday), where it is expected that Steve Cotterill will be named the club's new manager.

Tisdale was linked with the job, with the journalists at the Bristol Post citing him as the ideal candidate.

However, he was always a rank outsider with the bookies to leave for Bristol City, with some quoting the Exeter City manager at odds of 28/1, last Thursday, following the sacking of Sean O'Driscoll.

Tisdale himself said in last Thursday's press call, before the Exeter City's match with Bury, that he was not aware of being linked and was focused on the job he has at St James's Park.
