A superhuman effort from university students in Cornwall has seen the coffers of charities boosted by over £5,000 in the last three months.

Students from Falmouth University and the University of Exeter at the Penryn Campus raised £1,361 for Children in Need 2013, a £300 increase on last year's total. However, this is only the latest charitable drive undertaken by the students with numerous events raising £5,104 for a wide range of local, national and international charities.

This includes the £1,386 garnered by Camborne School of Mines' students for the Royal British Legion's Poppy Appeal this term.
