The Agricultural Machinery and Equipment Show (AMES) kicks off the 2013 show season in fine style on February 6 at the Royal Bath & West Showground at Shepton Mallet.

Trade-stand space is in strong demand – and major exhibitors include JCB Agriculture, Knight Farm Machinery, Vaughan Agri, Redlynch Agricultural Engineering, and John Shepherd Feeders.

Returning to the show, now in its fourth year, will be the popular Tractor-Stripping Competition, where teams from Lackham College Wiltshire strip tractors against the clock. Old Mill accountants will be hosting a seminar on the current advisability of buying some agricultural equipment to reduce year-end tax bills. And Dr Peter Shipton, technical manager from dairy consultants Kingshay, will be giving a talk on soil management, with particular reference to action following the wet land conditions.

The entire show is undercover and admission is free. Opening times are 8.30am to 4pm. For trade-stand information contact Harriet Greenop on 01749 822230.
