SMEATON’S Tower appears to have snapped in half in this extraordinary picture.

But don’t worry – the famous city landmark is still in one piece, as this is just a spoof image.

The picture, created by digital designer Tom Frankham, follows previous efforts which appear to show a tsunami and a tidal wave striking the Hoe.

Tom Frankham MUST be related to somebody at the Herald. I can think of no reason for any paper to run these "stories" other than to showcase this guy's unexceptional talents. Seriously, can you just stop now? Please.

This is all getting very tedious and demonstrates a total lack of imagination on the part of this rag. Enough!

Aaw, come on, it's a bit of fun. Hardly every few days, either. I believe this is the second - or maybe the third - one. Saying they are being rammed down our throat is a bit strong. OK, I prefer to read real news, but it's interesting to see the reactions these photos get.

These second-rate, and rather amateurish photo-shop prints that the Plymouth Herald insist on ramming down our throats every few days are becoming annoying. The only reason I can think of for these getting past any editor is nepotism. I wonder what relation whoever is creating these photographs actually is to some member of the Herald staff. Why not tell us Plymouth herald?
