SEVEN-year-old Freya Gidman from Babbacombe showed Santa how to skate when he visited the ice skating rink at Torquay's Riviera International Centre.

It is the second year there has been skating in Torquay, and this year's event is the biggest yet.

Lambco, the company operating the attraction, is run by Richard Lambert who started skating on synthetic ice at Torquay Pavilion. He went on to become a professional ice skater, travelled all over the World with Disney's World on Ice and is now a NISA Judge.

Mr Lambert said: "We have been busy and the children here really enjoyed the skating, inflatable assault courses, bouncy castles and Surfboard Simulator.

"Santa skated with the young children and their parents seemed quite pleased and took photos".
