RADIO stars at an Exeter secondary school have scooped a top media award for the second year running.

Peter Thompson, president of Schools Radio.com, is visiting Isca College of Media Arts today to announce that its students have again won the national Sony Award for Schools Radio.

Isca College Radio was awarded the Documentary/Feature Award for a piece entitled Pocket Money, looking at the economy, spending cuts and changes in funding for higher education.

Headteacher Mandi Street said: "This is a tremendous achievement for the students involved and a credit to the talented support provided by specialist staff here.

"Receiving this award for the second year running clearly asserts Isca College as a national leader in media education, and in turn, Exeter as a centre of excellence. We should all be proud of this."

The school will receive a trophy and £750 of Sony equipment for the radio station.
