Rothschild giraffes might be endangered in the wild, but the only thing that was endangered at Paignton zoo yesterday was the banana this one has her tongue wrapped around.

Otilie was born at the zoo in 2012 and just like any teenager she is very inquisitive and can sniff out her favourite snack in a jiffy.

Otilie lives with a tight-knit group of giraffes at the zoo, but when they come in at night she has been given her own pen because she is known to eat the food put

out for the other giraffes.

Up close to a giraffe it does make you feel a little small.

One of life’s more interesting creations, just one leg of an adult male is about seven feet long.
