While Gluhwein is a traditional festive tipple, a Taunton business is hoping that people will go wild about its 'zoo' wine.

Independent wine merchant Winesolution has developed a range of sweet wines called Dulce, launched in time for Christmas.

It is donating 10p from the sale of every bottle to Paignton Zoo, to support the registered charity’s conservation work at home and abroad.

Winesolution’s owner Hugh Elliott said: “We have photos of animals on the labels, so we thought it would be a great idea to link up with a wildlife charity. Paignton Zoo was the natural choice.”

Featuring on the labels are an orang utan, a leopard, a black headed heron and a Polar bear, photographed by Caroline Tout.

Paignton Zoo fundraiser Jenny Paton said: “This is a great way to raise money for conservation. Every time you raise a glass you’ll be helping wildlife.”
