KENYAN athletes dominated the race as the streets of Paignton and Torquay were handed over to the runners in the 2012 Torbay Half-Marathon.
Around 2,000 runners tackled the course from Paignton Green to Torquay and back - twice.
They varied from the fastest Kenyan duo who dominated the race to people for whom the victory was simply in completing the course.
Spectators lined the route offering support and encouragement.
The front of the race took shape in the early stages, when Kenyans Tewodros Shiferaw and Peter Emase broke away from local hero and former winner Kairn Stone.
By the half-way point in the race Shiferaw and Emase were building a lead, and Shiferaw completed the course in 66 minutes and 14 seconds, a minute and 17 seconds clear of Emase.
Stone was third, almost two minutes behind Emase.
