Police officers injured after call to a house

Two police officers were injured when they were called to a house in Highfield Road, Yeovil, Somerset, after reports that a man would not leave the address.

The officers were injured when they approached a car in which the man was sitting and which subsequently caught fire.

Both officers were taken to Yeovil Hospital where one was treated for minor burns.

The other officer received treatment for an eye injury.

A 53-year-old man who was in the car escaped injury, in the incident on Tuesday.

He was being questioned in police custody last night.
