A PLYMOUTH search and rescue team was scrambled when a female walker went missing in the fog on Dartmoor.

The Plymouth-based Dartmoor Search and Rescue Group team, including search dog Rob, were mobilised on Friday night.

They were sent to help their Ashburton-based colleagues after the woman was reported missing in "very misty conditions".

The rescue teams searched for her in the Cross Furzes area, along the Abbots Way between Buckfastleigh and Holne.

The missing walker was found at the Heap of Sinners cairn, rescuers said.
