A burglary suspect who allegedly raided a city home has had his case sent to Crown Court.

Gareth Hughes faced Plymouth magistrates charged with taking a laptop computer worth £1,800 from a home in Turnchapel.

The 34-year-old is accused of entering the address in St John's Road as a trespasser on November 7.

Hughes, of Burrow Hill, Plymstock, has so far indicated "no plea" to the charge.

He appeared via videolink from Exeter Prison and magistrates remanded him in custody until he appears before Plymouth Crown Court on January 18.
