Pedestrian and car collide on zebra crossing in Plymouth

A woman has been taken to hospital after a collision on a pedestrian crossing in Plymouth.

Police say a green Vauxhall Corsa and a woman collided on the zebra crossing on Buckwell Street in the Sutton area of the city at 8:16am today.

The woman was not seriously injured and was taken to Derriford Hospital in Plymouth by ambulance.

A police spokeswoman said: "The female pedestrian was taken to hospital but her injuries are not thought to be life threatening or life changing."

Buckwell Street was partially blocked at the Vauxhall Street junction.

Any witnesses to the incident are asked to call police on the non-emergency number 101 quoting reference number 0126 of 08/10/2012.
