Pearls of wisdom at Oyster Shack for seafood fans

Dining at The Oyster Shack is a unique experience. Starting life as an oyster farm in 1989, it has been serving fresh, local seafood from a venue tucked into the hill above the Avon estuary near Bigbury. Tom Parker Bowles said that it is "a celebration of native seafood".

It has been included in Restaurant magazine's top 100 restaurants in the past five years and is said to be one of the best places to eat local fish and seafood in South Devon. The lobsters and crabs come from Salcombe, the vegetables, grown a few miles away, and the fish are delivered daily. The atmosphere is relaxed and easy, the dishes are cooked to perfection but not fussy, and it is an unforgettable place to enjoy time together.

And the offer of £12 for two courses or £14 for three courses, which started in October, is amazing. It must be one of the best seafood deals around, and a great place for a party.
