A PAIGNTON landlord faces a trial in the summer accused of 17 counts of breaching the Housing Act.

Daniel Philpott, 56, of The Close, denies failing to comply with regulations in respect of management of housing in multiple occupancy.

They include an alleged failure to ensure his name, address and any telephone number contact were clearly displayed and that all means of escape from fire were kept free from obstruction.

The case is being prosecuted by Torbay Council.

Magistrates in Torquay will hear a two-day trial starting on July 2.
