A TEAM of second and final year university students organised and hosted three days of Chinese New Year celebrations.
The Events Management students from the School of Tourism and Hospitality at Plymouth University organised the festivities with the help of their lecturer, Richard Parkman.
Each event was held in a marquee on the Rolle Plaza of the city centre campus and included a business networking event, performing arts displays, Chinese massage and tea stands, interactive workshops and a variety of Chinese craft stalls.
The grand finale, on Friday evening, was a Chinese New Year Celebration Dinner with performances from lion and dragon dancers, silk and hoop aerialists, pole acts and experts in the martial arts.
The group aimed to bring other Plymouth students and people from the wider community of all backgrounds and ethnicities together to embrace the traditional Chinese custom during the Year of the Horse.
