People using the Orange phone network in Combe Martin are currently without signal after it went down over 24 hours ago.
At around 1pm yesterday customers in the village began experiencing problems with their phones not being able to receive or make calls.
The signal remained down overnight and was still not working properly at 3pm today.
Clare Flint runs a travel telesales company in the village and said she was initially told the signal problems were due to a fault with her phone.
But after spending two hours on the phone yesterday and another two today she was eventually told the problem stems from an Orange mast which has been decommissioned at Clorridge Hill.
It is thought the mast has been removed following the merge between Orange and T-Mobile.
Clare added: "It went off for me at about 1pm. They made me do all these things and blamed my sim card.
"Then I went to Ilfracombe at about 7pm and when I got near Berrynarbor the signal clicked back on and I could make calls."
Clare said she was also told the signal in Combe Martin will currently only work down by the seaside.
Orange also told Clare the signal may not be up and working again until Thursday.
A request has been made to Orange to clarify when signal is likely to resume in Combe Martin.
