Oil spill after car slams into tree

A road near Axminster was partially blocked today after a car crashed into a tree.

Police were called to the A35 at Gammons Hill in Kilmington at 6.35am after reports of a crash.

On arrival police discovered a Peugeot 206 had collided with a tree leaving an oil spill in the road.

The driver of the Peugeot was not injured but Highways Agency staff were notified of the crash.

In a separate incident just 20 minutes later a separate collision took place on the same road.

A lorry collided with a stationary car at 6:56am.
