A Devon photographer is celebrating after winning a raft of international awards.

Guy Harrop from Barnstaple had five wins at the 2012 International Loupe Awards in Australia, a world-renowned photography competition. The bronze awards in the People and Portrait, Illustrative and Photojournalism categories were for images shot across the South West.

Mr Harrop, who has more than 20 years of professional experience, specialises in corporate PR, portraiture and reportage, and regularly has work printed in publications around the world.

He said: "I have been extremely lucky with international photography awards and this competition takes my results to six so far this year. To be recognised on an international level for my work is so rewarding as a professional photographer.

"The fact that all the images I entered were shot in the Westcountry is great as it just shows you don't have to travel to exotic locations to win international photographic competitions."
