Mulberry seeks to build second factory

Luxury leather goods firm Mulberry has submitted a planning application to Sedgemoor District Council seeking permission to build a new factory in Bridgwater which would create around 300 jobs. The company, which recently announced a 38 per cent increase in turnover, has already expanded its existing Chilcompton factory by almost a third. Representing a £7.5 million investment, the project has been part-funded by a bid to Regional Growth Fund. It would double Mulberry's UK production levels.
