Melmore tops pool despite two defeats

Despite suffering two defeats in Adelaide yesterday, Torquay Kings' Natalie Melmore remains on top of her pool at the women's World Outdoor Singles Championship. She lost 21-19 to Hong Kong's Tammy Tham and 21-15 to Dorothy Gibbons, from Cyprus. Melmore's club-mate Jamie Chestney and Wiltshire's Graham Shadwell chalked up wins of 20-6 and 44-6 over Spain and Japan respectively, and are in with a fighting chance of qualifying for the knock-out stage of the men's pairs.
