Meerkats get into Halloween spirit at pumpkin playtime

Meerkats have come out to play during a week of a spooky activities at a Devon adventure park.

The mob of meerkats at Crealy Great Adventure Park got stuck into specially carved pumpkins for the Halloween half term.

Activities on offer this week include "scary" story readings by celebrity guests, including TV and radio presenter Judi Spiers, author David Lawrence Jones, celebrity chef Michael Caines, and Exeter City Football Club's James Vittels. A football training session will also be held on Friday by Mr Vittels.

TV star Caroline Quentin will open a fireworks event on Saturday, featuring singer Adam Isaac from television series The Voice.

Allie Ofield, Crealy's Animal Realm deputy manager, said: "Children are queuing for pumpkins and watching the meerkats play."
