Man to face court following stabbing

A 49-year-old man is expected to appear in court later today charged with attempted murder following a stabbing in East Devon. Police were called to a disturbance at a house in Exmouth in the early hours of Saturday where the man was arrested. He was later charged with one count of attempted murder, two of assault causing actual bodily harm, and breaching a restraining order and criminal damage. One victim remains in hospital, although police said the injuries were "not considered life-threatening". Other victims are being comforted by family members. Officers have appealed for any witnesses to the incident, which occurred in Bystock Road between 1am and 2am, to contact them on 08452 777444 quoting log 99 of September 10.
