A man has appeared in court accused of stealing four car wheels worth more than £5,000.

Martin McCann, aged 22, faced Plymouth magistrates charged with taking the alloy wheels from an Audi.

McCann, of The Ride, Plymstock, allegedly took the wheels valued at £5,200 from the vehicle being kept in storage in Galileo Close in Plympton between October 28 and October 30.

He is also charged with racially-aggravated threatening behaviour and an alternative count of threatening behaviour at a city takeaway on November 12.

McCann did not offer any pleas to the three charges.

He appeared from the cells and magistrates remanded him back into custody until Friday.
