A 41-year-old man has been charged with murder after a 36-year-old woman was found dead in a house in the north of Plymouth.
Police were called to an address on Tailyour Road in Crownhill at 9:48am on Saturday where they found the body of a 36-year-old woman.
The dead woman was named locally as Kerry Power.
Neighbours yesterday said they were shocked at hearing the news.
Eye witnesses reported seeing police dressed in forensic suits and a coroners ambulance parked outside the back of the house.
A car, said to be belonging to a woman and her partner, was parked in the space allocated to their house number.
Police were knocking on neighbours’ doors on Saturday afternoon seeking information to help them with their investigation.
They asked the public to call 101 if they have any information which they believe could be useful.
Police confirmed on Sunday night that a man had been charged.
