Devon schoolboy Luke Friend sang for survival in the X Factor last night and made it to the semi finals. Luke, from Teignmouth, was judged in the bottom two with teenage girl singer Tamera Foster. But his rendition of the anthemic Run, by Snow Patrol, impressed two of the four judges and the final result went to deadlock, meaning the public's votes put him through. He was told by mentor Louis Walsh: "You absolutely won the sing-off and you should not be in the bottom two. It's wrong."
