Police say two drivers were lucky to escape injury after a car crash in West Devon this morning.

The fire brigade, the Highways Agency and police were called to The Halfway House Inn in Grenofen between Tavistock and Horrabridge just after 9am.

A silver Renault Kangoo from Tavistock and a red Peugeot 407 estate from Saltash crashed, completely blocking the road.

A police spokeswoman said: "After looking over the drivers paramedics reported no injuries despite the impact of the crash. Considering the damage to the cars both male drivers were very lucky."

The road was reopened at 9.45am after recovery of the vehicles.

The driver might had stopped and turned the engine off. You can use your mobile phone then.
