The family of X Factor finalist Luke Friend are looking forward to his homecoming today.
The singer-songwriter will be in South Devon with an X Factor crew, filming for the weekend.
Luke, from Teignmouth, will be welcomed by his mother and father Sue and Steve and other members of his family.
The couple watched their son perform in the sing-off on Sunday. He made it through to the final and is now in the last three acts.
“It’s fantastic that he’s in the final,” said Sue.
“Judge Sharon Osbourne took it to deadlock and it went to deadlock and back to the public vote. I think that was fair.
“It was down to the public who phoned in and supported him, it’s like it was meant to be.”
During the after-show party his parents got to see him for a few minutes.
“He was swamped by people wanting to meet him and had security to help him,” said Sue. “He shouted out ‘Where’s my mum?’ and I squeezed through and got a hug.”
Steve was more nervous about Sunday’s show.
“I love watching him perform on a Saturday, it’s fantastic. Sunday, however, my mind is set on the sing-off.
“It was amazing that he got through and the crowd there were just brilliant.”
During Luke’s whistlestop visit he will go to Lemon Jelli, Newton Abbot and perform at the Great Hall, Exeter.
His mentor Louis Walsh will accompany him on part of the trip.
