The Princess Royal has presented a Devon man with a national photography award.

Peter Hunt from Brixham was announced as a winner in the National Historic Ships UK's 2012 photography competition, at ceremony onboard HMS Belfast. Mr Hunt was selected as the 2012 winner of the category Traditional Maritime Skills in Action for his image, Making Ready – Vigilance BM 76 Brixham Harbour.

He said: "I originally took this photo in colour but decided to change it to black and white, which really changed the mood of the image and made it timeless. It was also a real honour to be presented with my award by Her Royal Highness, The Princess Royal."
