Two model locomotives built from scratch are to be sold at auction in the Westcountry.

The two large five-inch gauge locomotives were used at Kings's Park in Bournemouth to take children around the park.

The sale, by Lawrences Auctioneers of Crewkerne, includes a Great Western pannier tank 'Pansy', and a Great Western 4-6-0 locomotive 'Torquay Manor', complete with tender. Both locomotives have purpose-built cases, which were used to transport the trains to exhibitions.

Lawrences auctioneer Simon Jones said: "These are beautifully made locomotives of exceptional quality. These large gauge locomotives are extremely popular with collectors, and they should attract a lot of interest."

They are to be sold in Lawrences' Autumn Collectors Sale, on Friday, November 2, as part of a large two-day sale. Both trains are expected to realise £3,000 to £4,000.
