A former Penzance GP has been appointed to a top job at the company which runs Cornwall's cottage hospitals.
Dr Janine Glazier has been appointed to the new post of medical director for Peninsula Community Health (PCH).
The social enterprise made the decision to recruit a medical director to the executive team to support integrated working with GP practices in the community.
Dr Glazier will offer a key link to local GP practices and a wealth of medical expertise to complement PCH's clinical nursing base.
Previously, Dr Glazier worked as a GP in Penzance for seven years and joined the Acute GP Service in 2009, becoming clinical lead in 2012.
In addition to her part time role with PCH, Dr Glazier is one of the clinical urgent care leads for Kernow CCG, the GP led organisation which purchases healthcare on behalf of patients in the county.
The mother-of-three is also locum GP in West Cornwall.
She said: "I am genuinely delighted to be joining the executive team. My focus will be on working with the local health community to develop excellent health care for Cornwall.”
