Firefighters tackled a large blaze at a café that was battered by waves during last week’s storms
Crews from Kingsbridge, Dartmouth, Salcombe were sent to tackle the blaze at The Boat House Café in Torcross on Monday shortly after 4pm.
When crews arrived two more engines from Brixham and Paignton, together with a supporting Incident Command Unit from Totnes.
At 5pm fire control said crews were still dealing with the incident.
Witness Fiona Green said: “The fire had taken full hold before the fire brigade got there. The poor people have had all their windows knocked in by the waves last week and now they've had to suffer all this.”
