Firefighters called to freezer fire at Plymtree property

Firefighters were called to a freezer on fire in the garage of a property in Plymtree last night.

Crews from Cullompton, Middlemoor and Ottery St Mary were called to reports of a garage fire in Woodbeer Gardens, Plymtree, near Cullompton, at 7.15pm.

Upon arrival, firefighters confirmed a small fire involving a freezer had occurred in the garage of the property.

Crews inspected the freezer appliance and the property with a thermal imaging camera to ensure it was safe.

Fire crews said around 50% of the freezer was damaged by fire.

Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said the cause of the fire was believed to be accidental.
