Companies in South Devon are being invited to attend a special event and find out how they can better access finance and grow their business.
The Finance for Growth event at Paignton Innovation Centre is being organised by the Business Finance Network and funded by the Regional Growth Fund to introduce delegates to a range of experts and benefit from their shared experiences of growing a business.
Andrew Lightfoot of South West Investment Group said: “The Business Finance Network is focused on supporting businesses in securing finance to grow.
“There is a lot of finance available to small and medium sized businesses, but businesses and their advisors are not always aware of the full range of opportunities.
“The network will help advisors stay up to date with new developments in funding and finance and will also help South West businesses navigate opportunities and focus on the ones that are right for them.”
With more than 200 members in Devon and Torbay, the Business Finance Network is expanding and looking to grow its membership across the region.
The extended network is part of the Peninsula City Deal Growth Hub, which is funded as part of a £6million business support programme from the Government’s Regional Growth Fund (RGF) and is being delivered in partnership by GAIN (the Growth Acceleration and Investment Network).
Professor Julian Beer, pro vice-chancellor for regional enterprise at Plymouth University, said: “The expansion of the Business Finance Network will give more of our businesses the opportunity to benefit from shared knowledge and expertise.
“This will offer really practical support to businesses by helping them navigate the complex range of finance available to them.
“This supports GAIN’s overall strategy of supporting businesses to grow and create more jobs for the region.”
The Finance for Growth event is being held on Wednesday September 17 at the Paignton Innovation Centre, Vantage Point, Paignton, from 8.30am-11am.
